Friday Faves: Sayonara September

I have so much awesome Fall tv to watch but my Netflix and Hulu queue are still overflowing. And yet, seeing these Lucille Bluth motivational posters makes me want to give it all up and just rematch Arrested Development. Again. I need to make this salad, stat. Might eat it every single day next week, no judgement. I need to do this. I just swapped out our summer wardrobes for our autumn ones (the parkas are still FIRMLY shoved in the back of the storage closet thank goodness) and I have like 18 terrible sweaters, some of which are Read More →

Date Night: Coral Floral Swing

Time to soak up these last few Summer Nights! It’s Friday, it’s date night, and you’re headed out for a casual fun date night. If you’re anything like me, you’ll figure out a way to incorporate the best color ever (coral) into your wardrobe year round, snowpocalypse and Polar Vortices be damned. However, there’s no time like summer time for rocking the color of Florida sunsets, of the best Essie shade to fake a tan, of the greatest citrus of all time, and of my favorite vintage cameos. So tonight, we combine summer’s best color with one of summer’s biggest Read More →

World’s Most Expensive Gold Skateboard

For some people the sky and their imagination isn’t even the limit. One of these creative dreamers is avid skateboarder Matthew Willet. Willet had an idea. He wanted to design the world’s most expensive skateboard, and after some missteps he has succeeded. The fully functional board is 31.5 inches long, 8 inches wide and weighs 80% more than an average skateboard. Willet designed the board, which is being called “The Golden Skateboard,” for the New York based skateboard shop SHUT. The reason that this skateboard weighs so much more that a traditional board is because it is made from 99.999 Read More →

It’s Time To Talk About the C Word

Readers, it’s time for some real talk. We are here today, to talk about the c-word. Clarity enhancement. Like that other c-word, it’s just as dirty when you’re not up front about it. Some women are fine with it, others appalled. But the importance lies in disclosing when you’re about to use it (you know, earmuffs, etc.) Clarity enhancement is the jewelry industry’s dirty word. If you’re going to treat your stones, then fine, so be it. But you need to disclose up front that your customers should go into the conversation knowing that the c word is going to Read More →

Web Roundup: Winter is Coming

Happy April ya’ll! Besides my distaste for April Fool’s pranks, I was pretty into this week. The promise of spring is on the horizon, there are plenty of yellow diamonds in the showroom, and we picked up this amazing pair of vintage Van Cleef & Arpels earrings today. I got to share some of my favorite wedding tidbits, while simultaneously learning about the Pink Panther-style ring of European diamond thieves that are at large (hide yo diamonds!) Here’s what else I got up to… Time to get nitpicky. A) This is not Duchess Catherine’s jewelry collection. The first slide was Read More →
