Introducing the Breitling Transocean Chronograph GMT

If you travel frequently, and especially travel through multiple countries and time zones, you recognize the value of an international watch. Such a watch can help you stay on track of what time it is where you are located and what time it is “back at the office”.

Breitling has a Tansocean Collection just for you. They recently have added a new Transocean Chronograph GMT to this collection and it offers some nice new details for a Breitling watch.

This new Transocean Chronograph GMT is completely developed and made in the Breitling facilities and its heart is an impressive self-winding chronograph calibre B04. When you enter a new country or time zone, you simply pull out the crown and turn it forward or backward according to your direction of travel. You can also see the 24 hour home-time indicator.

Breitling is apparently so happy with the caliber B04 chronograph that it has created it with a transparent sapphire crystal back. This clear back allows the owner to admire the inner workings of the caliber B04.

This will be a limited run for Breitling, with only 2000 of these watches created in a steel edition. A red gold version is even more rare, and vastly more expensive. Only 200 of the red gold models have been produced.

Spotlight On: The Harry Winston Opus XIII

New timepieces come and go, many leaving no significant impact upon the luxury watch market. They fade into the background never to be talked about again. The Harry Winston Opus XIII is not one of these watches. This revolutionary watch challenges, and perhaps improves, the way we view luxury timepieces. It says goodbye to the traditional moving hands. Instead, time is represented with several spinning circular movements and triangles. There are 59 individual hands that illustrate minutes and 11 triangles in the center, indicating the present hour.

This unique design will completely diminish any other timepieces in the room. The Opus XIII has ushered in a new era of watchmaking design. It has thrown out the most basic principle of watchmaking, the hand system, and completely re-imagined how to convey time.

As if the unique dial wasn’t enough, the casing itself is 18k white gold with a sapphire crystal dome. This was chosen to help prevent the nuisance of light reflection. Release of Three New Jaeger-LeCoultre & Aston Martin Watches

Since 1833, Swiss watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre has perpetuated an innovative approach to watch design. Jaeger-LeCoultre is continuing its partnership with luxury car maker Aston Martin with the release of three new watches. This is in addition to the already released AMVOX7 chronograph. These three new timepieces incorporate elements of Aston Martin’s unique and distinctive style.

This exclusive watch has been limited to 100 unique pieces worldwide, and resembles the AMVOX7 chronograph. It is made of Grade 5 titanium and measures 46.3mm. Structurally, the timepiece is rugged and built to bear special shock absorbers. The watch is also water resistant up to 100 meters, and features a 912 caliber-handcrafted with 23 jewels. This two tone red and white watch is as much durable as it is a collector’s item.

This timepiece has a stainless steel casing, a sapphire display back and measures 40mm across. The Aston Martin logo is displayed on the side bezel, and the dial has a rhodium treated surface and a sunburst black shade. The strapping is made of slate gray leather, and has a synchronized stitching pattern. The overall design of the watch is somewhat simplistic, yet sophisticated. Class is conveyed through a quiet confidence.

Only 500 of these watches will be available globally. The cases are made of titanium and measure 44mm across. Incorporated into the design is cermet which is seen in high end sports car engines. The manufacturing process and materials utilized make this model of watch resistant to shock. This timepiece also features the 752/1 movement with 39 jewels, and strapping made of black calf skin with a stainless steel buckle.

This week’s featured watch is nothing short of sick. The Daytona itself is a gorgeous and impressive watch. Its various color and metal iterations suit each wearer’s unique sense of style. If you’re a lady who loves the men’s watch look, we’ve got a black dial Everrose Daytona with your name on it. But the Rolex Chocolate Daytona is our new personal favorite.

This gorgeous watch is a used Rolex we bought from a client last week in excellent condition. We could sit and marvel at the brightly polished Everrose case all day if the chocolate dial didn’t keep distracting us.

The dial features black Arabic markers, Everrose subdials, rose gold seconds track and rose gold hands (which are accurate up to 1/8th of a second – which you can also see from the fractions of seconds markers). The fixed black Cerachrom bezel is scratch resistant and UV-ray-proof, meaning it won’t ever lose its color. The bezel’s tachymeter engraving are painted rose gold to match the case.
