Happy Memorial Day Weekend! As the official unofficial kick off to summer, it’s high time you dusted off your grill. Whether it’s burgers or kebabs, tofu dogs or steak, get ready to sear & sizzle. Of course, here in Boca it’s just as likely that you’ll be bikini-clad and beach side, but for today’s feature we’re keeping it backyard & poolside. Denim and barbecue go together almost as well as hot dogs and hamburgers (and it’s practically the mandatory uniform of a good BBQ). So your options today are jean shorts or jean shorts. BUT – we’d never leave you high and dry as far as options. Would you wear this polished pair of Paige cuffed Jimmy Jimmy white denim shorts with a sweet polka dotted Chambray button down? Or would you let your inner ‘Merica shine bright in a bleached pair of Current/Elliott cutoffs and a Dolce Vita handpainted Old Glory v-neck? Both play nicely with a gorgeous blue topaz David Yurman Albion ring – classic American design for an American holiday. Your weekend, your Memorial Day outfit choice!
Guess continues to sponsor Tiësto performances and have past collaborated with Tiësto on lines of womenswear, menswear and accessories. The fashion and lifestyle brand has now unveiled a new timepiece in collaboration with the music producer and DJ. The sporty watch is said to be inspired by all of his world wide performances.
It is a limited edition 45 mm timepiece that will only be available in Guess stores, specialist retailers and Guess partner department stores. Fashioned from gunmetal PVC stainless steel, it has a large crown, patterned dial and an electric blue sweeping hand that marks the seconds. The Tiësto logo adorns the caseback.
Paul Marciano, the brand’s chief executive and creative director explains, ” Tiësto understands the Guess lifestyle so well. To extend this collaboration to more categories was an easy and a fun choice.” Marciano says that he was very impressed with DJ and music producer Tiësto upon first meeting him. “We connected right away on both a personal and professional level,” he said.
Marciano claims that Tiësto is much more than just a DJ. He says the music producer understands how to build a brand. “There is no better choice in music today to represent the free-spirited, adventurous and sexy Guess lifestyle.”
The new timepiece will be promoted with a dedicated mini-site providing product details and performance schedules. An e-commerce section is being planned for the mini-site. The Guess brand is hoping to build buzz about the new creation with the Twitter hash tag #guesstiesto.
DJ Tiësto was born Tijs Michiel Verwest on January 17th, 1969. The Dutch musician is a DJ and producer of electronic dance music.
Tiesto is described as having created a global brand out of his DJ and production work, and has previously launched his own radio channel, headphones and an iPhone app.
Have we got a happy hour in store for you! Well, it’s in our store, specifically in our colored gems case. This beautiful purple cocktail features a checkerboard cut amethyst in an elongated cushion shape that makes the stone look larger than it already is (which is saying something). It’s also very flattering on the hand, as its long shape makes your fingers look extra elegant. It’s sandwiched between two rows of diamonds, which really should be the default setting for any gem, with two trillion cut tsavorites flanking the sides. The entire ring is set in yellow gold, which nicely balances the color wheel complements.
If you can tear your eyes away from what’s on your hand, take a look at what’s in your glass. Round two of our purple cocktails special is this charming blueberry pineapple champagne sparkler, created by Tasty-Trials.com. It features a blueberry, pineapple and mint puree mixed with your favorite bubbly and served up in fabulous style. Cheers!

This afternoon we’re craving rocks – and we’ve got the sparkle to back it up. We’ve been adding more vintage inspired and platinum baubles to our wishlist, but today we’re especially interested in big diamonds. You know, the type that make you lean to the left when you walk. The sort that cause a glare in photographs. The kind that are such head-turners we’ve got chiropractors thanking us for booming business. In other words, we like big diamonds and we cannot lie. Especially when they’re mounted in beautifully unique engagement rings settings. White metal still rules the bridal trend scene (although requests for rose gold and yellow gold engagement rings have certainly been on the rise) so today we’re showcasing out white gold and platinum favorites.
Hello, lover. Micropave split shanks meet diamond studded shoulders before bowing down to a square pave frame mounted with a gorgeous .71ct round brilliant diamond (in addition to the 1 ctw of accent diamonds).
This ring is the definition of refined glamour. A beautiful, prisitine GIA certified G colored VS 2 1.09ct cushion cut diamond is set flush with a platinum halo of .40ctw round brilliants. The shank is a simple, platinum rounded band that won’t compete with the center show.
Mixing two different types of diamond cuts is one of our favorite ways to create a unique engagement ring look. The stunning 1.16 carat center stone shows off its fabulous color (F) and impeccable clarity (VS2) with a minimalist, clear step cut. The side stones (approximately another carat) sparkle with lots of fire thanks to their brilliant cut, but their trapeze shape nicely mimics the rigid lines of the center diamond. All set in platinum to create an extra luxe look.
Did you just audibly gasp? Good, that’s the appropriate reaction. First of all, let’s discuss the center stone, since there’s no tip-toeing around this elephant in the room. A fabulous, 2.20 ct princess cut, G colored, internall flawless center stone compeletely dominates this ring (in the best possible way). As if that wasn’t enough, an additional carat and a half of round brilliant diamonds studs the shanks. Can you say “yowza?”
